Why are motorcycle shops so behind the times?

Actually, I had a pretty good experience at Leo's South where I picked up the Aprilia. Not great, but ok.

But since then I decided to order a jacket and some side bags. I found the jacket, a Hein Gericke Timbuktu Air on closeout at www.motogearoutlet.com for $150, which is nearly half price. The bags are Nelson Rigg CL-950 deluxe saddlebags at www.cycleluggage.com.

In both cases, i placed the order almost two days ago, and have yet to receive a followup email on when it will ship.

Internet sales has been around for a long time now. The key is communication.

I wonder if the service is because they are niche, or are they niche because of the service?
