The Future of Mexico?

The recent election in Mexico to replace Vincente Fox has turned out in confusion, with an uncertainty as to the results.

Although as an American I don't care one way or another who wins. I can't help but wonder if it wouldn't have been better for the leftist candidate to have won, at least from the American perspective.

That is. I think Vincente Fox's policies have been responsible for illegal immigration into the United States.
